What can we say this building is just a pain on the eyes.

  1. who created this and where is it exactly?

  2. This is based on the ‘Cafe Optical Illusion’ first noticed on a cafe in Bristol, England. Someone had tiled the building with staggered black and white tiles which gives the impression of total distortion. Cool, eh?

  3. I’ve lived in Bristol all my life and have NEVER seen that!! CRAZY

  4. To Ashley:

The building shown is not in Bristol, this is in Melbourne, Australia, and it was built only very recently, in 2006.

The original cafe, where this optical illusion was first spotted, was in Bristol, at the corner of St. Michael’s Hill and Perry Road. I first spotted this in 1999, when I had a flat in the vicinity. The building is stil there, however the cafe was closed and, for a while, thre premises were turned into a shop, etc. I believe that currently it is again closed.
